Why do I get a red spinner and an incorrect Location/map at start up after a new install?

If this happens, first exit/close the App and then restart it - that should clear the problem. If not, check the App's location permissions in the App's Phone Settings - make sure Location is allowed as 'when in use' or 'always'.Restart the App. If that fails, get in touch.

Where is my data stored? And is it secure?

We DON'T store ANY identifying data in this release. No user name, no phone number etc. Your privacy is paramount. We do explicitly not send any location data off device other than through the third-party MapBox APIs which is anonymous and removed after a preset period.

Where do my exported tracks live?

They are exported as Gpx files (which can be shared with anyone you choose) in 'Downloads/GpxFiles' on your device (or in a folder that you have created) - the App tries to create the 'GpxFiles' folder but if it fails you will need to create your own folder for Gpx files. You can view and reload them using menu option 'Load Gpx File'.

Why does my track on the map occasionally show gaps?

This App tries to be as accurate as possible in the information it provides to you the user, however, there are times when the location information your device receives is considerably slower than your speed - e.g. when in a car. This results in gaps in the information shown. If you slow down, you should see more accurate tracking. This is a limitation of using the device GPS.

What is Gpx format and can I export my track as Gpx?

Gpx format is used by modern GPS systems. You can export your Track as Gpx and load that in to a GPS if required and vice-versa.

Can I import a Gpx track in to the App?

Yes definitely, you can download a Gpx file using your mobile browser either in to the Downloads/GpxFiles folder on your device or an equivalent that you have created when requested by the App - then view the Gpx file in a map view using the 'Load GPX File' menu option. The Gpx file will appear as a blue line. You will need to give explicit permission for the App to access the GpxFiles folder or equivalent. You should then be able to Search for and list/view the Files on the Map. Recent security enhancements to Android require the user to allow access to the specific directory containing the Gpx Files.

Why do I get asked either to select and authorise or 'Create A Folder' when I try and use the Apps Gpx create or load facility?

Android is very fussy about security and needs your permission to write or read files (Gpx files in our case) to any external folder on the device. If you are asked to 'Create New Folder' - do this and call it 'GpxFiles'. This is where you will place and load Gpx files that the App will use.

When I load a Gpx file and View it, the Map, after a short while, shows my current Location?

Switch off Auto Map Centering if you don't want this to happen. Its the Switch on the Bottom/Left on the main screen.

Where can I get support for this App?
